SOLD OUT

The stand-by list becomes available at the admissions desk exactly two (2) hours before the start of the program.  You must be physically present to sign up on the list.  Any available tickets will be released to the stand-by list, in order, beginning ten minutes before the start of the program. Each person can purchase up to two tickets.  You must be physically present at the time your name is called or your place in line will be forfeited.  Unfortunately, we are unable to predict how many tickets, if any, may become available.

Chairman's Circle members of the museum have first priority to purchase tickets for sold-out programs, should tickets become available.  Please call 212.620.5000 ext. 344 to inquire about membership.

“Live performance is the way I get to truly spill my soul and connect with an audience. I love being in the studio but in live performance every second is a new creation.” --Dana Fuchs

A rare phenomenon whose unique voice and stage presence alludes to those of Janis Joplin, Etta James and Otis Redding, Dana Fuchs is back on the Rubin’s stage after two previous sold out shows in 2010 and early this year.

Arriving in NYC at the age of 19, Fuchs worked the blues circuit for a couple of years until deciding it was time to tell her story through her own music. She began compiling a solid body of original rock songs. “My personal ‘blues’ had a different story and I needed to tell it…and express my rock and roll side more.”

Part of her self-exploration included playing the title role of Janis Joplin in the Off-Broadway musical hit Love, Janis, and "Sadie" in Julie Taymor's critically acclaimed film Across The Universe. Perhaps Stereophile Magazine said it best: "imagine a sultry, more emotive Janis Joplin, backed by a higher energy version of the late 60's Rolling Stones...Rock n' Roll doesn’t get any better."
