About the Speaker
Fabian Czerwinski is a biophysicist who is investigating the motility of bacteria. He utilizes lasers bundled into tight focal spots that trap the microorganisms, forcing them into conditions where their “will” boils down to quasi-acoustic jitter. Fabian is excited to follow on the big screen how Hitchcock becomes the experimenter who breaks Roger Thornhill’s microenvironment by virtuously applying optical and acoustic illusions that’ll take us onto the unwilling and illusive journey North by Northwest.
Fabian’s personal academic pursuit can be traced through a number of biophysical experiments at the University of Heidelberg, the University of Technology in Delft, and the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen. He currently enjoys the collaborative and open production of knowledge as a postdoctoral fellow at Princeton University.
