Bits of bliss:
1. Mrs. Match: "Are you happy, are you happy now?"
2. The story, set in Los Angeles in 1937, was inspired by the historical disputes over land and water rights that had raged in southern California during the 1910s and 1920s
3. The neo-noir film has a gripping screenplay and culminates a not-so-happy ending
