Anjana Roy comes from Delhi, India, where she had her early initiation in music under Shri Rebati Ranjan Debnath, her father and guru. Anjana studied instrumental music and earned her Master’s in Arts from Banasthali Vidyapith of Jaipur, Rajasthan and a Master of Philosophy degree from the University of New Delhi. Ms. Roy eventually settled in New York, where she has taught sitar music at the Shikshayatan Institution in Queens. She has performed at the Queens Conservatory of Music, Brooklyn Public Library, International House, the Indian Consulate, and in many private converts. Anjana Roy released an album of Indian classical music on sitar in 2006. Anjana will be accompanied by Polash Gomes on the tabla.
