Reduced Admission Fee

The Rubin Museum of Art offers a discounted college student admission fee of $5 with college I.D., and offers free admission to everyone every Friday night from 6:00-10:00 p.m. For the 2011- 2012 academic year (July 1 – June 30) students from Baruch College, BMCC, Hunter College, John Jay College, The New School, Hunter College, Queens College, and QCC have free museum admission with student id.

 

Student Standby Program Tickets

The Rubin Museum of Art offers a special $5 student standby ticket for the Museum's special programs and events, including live performances, film screenings, and engaging discussions with special guests. For a list of programs visit our calendar.

Internships and Training

If you would like to gain valuable experience working in a museum environment, consider applying for an internship at the Rubin Museum of Art. Internships focus on a variety of departments and disciplines, family programs, administration in museum environments, museum education in schools, and opportunities for multimedia and exhibition work. Internships at the Rubin Museum of Art may be used to fulfill academic requirements on arrangement with the individual college or university. Student Membership

For only $45 you will receive unlimited free admission for one and a complimentary audio guide; invitations to select previews, members-only exhibition tours, and other events; a 10% discount on purchases at the Shop @ RMA and Cafe @ RMA; discounts on lectures, performances, films, and family programs; and advance notice of select museum events. Student ID required (Fully tax-deductible)

  • There is a 24-hour parking lot on the corner of 17th Street and 6th Avenue. In addition, there are parking garages along 17th Street going towards Union Square.

  • Tuesday: Closed
  • Wednesday: 11 a.m – 7 p.m.
  • Thursday: 11 a.m – 5 p.m.
  • Friday: 11 a.m – 10 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 11 a.m – 6 p.m.

  • The museum is closed on Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year’s Day.

  • The Café and the Shop are open during the museum hours.
