Senior Visits
Free Seniors Day
On the first Monday of every month the Rubin Museum of Art welcomes older adults (65 and older) to receive free admission to the galleries (regularly $5), guided visits of the galleries, tickets to film screenings, and a 10% discount on selected items in Serai, the museum's shop and café.

The museum is open on Mondays from 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Mahasiddhas in Himalayan Art - A one-hour program, a combined theater and gallery experience, that provides visitors with an in-depth look at the lives of yogis as expressed in Himalayan art.
12:00–2:00 p.m.
Auspicious Stitches - A weekly art-making workshop that focuses on needlework, appliqué, and other fiber arts
1:00–2:00 p.m.
Free Seniors Day Film - A screening of a Himalayan-themed film
3:00–4:00 p.m.
Taste of RMA - A guided, themed tour through the galleries
Reservations for group visits are recommended, and private tours of the galleries can be arranged by calling the Group Visits Office at 212.620.5000 x345 or by emailing reservations@rmanyc.org.
Other Senior Offerings
Since opening its doors to the public in October 2004, the Rubin Museum has worked to provide programming, events, and resources for senior audiences. Every Wednesday the museum presents Lunch Matters, a lunchtime screening of a short documentary film focused on themes and ideas present in Himalayan art and followed by a moderated discussion. Accessibility
A visit to the Rubin Museum is enhanced by the presence of guides in the galleries, American Sign Language tours, verbal imaging and touch tours, and a wheelchair-accessible facility.
